Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

What this app is

Craggable is a small, invite-only app for logging climbs and sharing them with people you know. It is not a commercial product — it is run by one person for a small group of friends, and this policy is written in plain language rather than dense legal text.

Account information

When you sign up, we store your email address (used only to send you a sign-in link), your chosen username and display name, an optional bio, and an optional profile photo.

Climbing content you create

Sessions you log (title, description, date, location, photos) and the individual climbs within them (route name, grade, style, notes) are stored so they can be shown to you and to whoever your privacy setting allows — see "Who can see your climbs" in Settings. Likes and comments you leave are stored and linked to your account the same way.

Mountain Project data

If you choose to import your Mountain Project history, we read the CSV export file you upload — route names, grades, dates, personal notes, and climbing style; the same data already visible on your Mountain Project profile. Only your own file, and only when you upload it — the app never contacts Mountain Project itself.

Location data

Sessions can show a location name and an approximate map pin for the climbing area (not your personal GPS location). This comes from matching the area name against OpenBeta, a public open-source climbing database, or, if that fails, from Mapbox's geocoding service. Only a place name or the resulting coordinates are sent to these services — never your account information.

Push notifications

If you allow notifications, your device is assigned a push token (via Expo's push notification service) so we can notify you about likes, comments, and follows. This token identifies your device, not you personally.

Who can see what

Your follower list is visible to determine who sees your feed. Each session is shown according to your default visibility setting (public, followers-only, or private), which you control at any time in Settings → Privacy settings.

Where data is stored

All account, climbing, and photo data is stored with Supabase, a database/hosting provider, protected by access rules that only let you (and whoever your visibility setting permits) read your data.

Data deletion

You can delete your account and everything in it yourself: Settings → Edit profile → Delete account. Prefer to ask a person? Email privacy@craggable.com and it will be handled directly.

Children's privacy

This app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If what this app collects or does with data changes, this page will be updated to reflect that.
